What was the problem?
Emily was bought personal styling gift vouchers for her birthday by her girlfriends as a treat.
This milestone birthday also signified the start of a new chapter for Emily in her personal life too.
A self proclaimed surfer chick who loves being outdoors and leads a very active outdoor lifestyle, travelling around in her beloved camper van with her equally adored pup Callie most of Emily’s day to day style was casual and practical, enter jeans or leggings with a hoodie!
Emily wanted a wardrobe that better reflected her style and adventurous nature but was more ‘edgy and eclectic’
She loved wearing dresses but was unsure how to style casually or how to wear a casual look to meet friends or go on a date that was elevated and felt good.
As well as being active in her work Emily also goes to the gym and as a result loves her strong but curvy figure and really wanted to embrace it with confidence and style!
What did we do?
Having completed a Colour Analysis during her first consultation, the first task was to take out the items that were immediately not suited to her characteristics.
These were mainly items that were cooler toned, as a warm Autumn anything with a strong blue undertone drained the colour from her face.
By doing this we were instantly able to create a collection of clothes that were easy to build outfits with.
Eclectic and edgy were styles Emily was keen to emulate in her looks so we looked to mix feminine shapes with more classic, masculine tailoring.
Emily has a fabulously strong but feminine and curvy hourglass figure, and although body confident she wanted her tummy and tops of thighs to be less prominent.
This is where I showed her how to balance her proportions.
Using volume to even out our widest parts whilst enhancing her lovely hourglass shape.
Drawing the eye to her neck or waistline or down her body.
