Harriet

What was the problem?

Harriet initially found me through Instagram, when searching for a local Personal Stylist. After following me for a short while and looking through the website, reached out through the contact form.

As a busy wife, mum to two older boys, cockapoo Bella and working as a mediator part-time, her lifestyle is chaotic, active and varied.
Previously working as a lawyer for 20 years then taking time out to have kids, Harriet’s wardrobe was a combination of past and present lifestyles.

Also recently celebrating a milestone birthday and focusing on a healthier lifestyle the past year, losing considerable amount of weight and changing her body shape in the process, Harriet wanted to work with stylist to update her style to reflect this personal development and new direction.

Having two active boys, an energetic dog and a fitness regime, means that Harriet now leads a very active and outdoorsy lifestyle.
On the flip side, having a new shape and body confidence she was keen to re-discover old items she had not been able to wear in a while.

What did we do?

Due to her changed shape Harriet’s Wardrobe Edit the emphasis was very much on trying on, exploring what still fitted and didn’t along with plenty of outfit building.

Due to changing times a lot of her mediation work is now on Zoom so part of the focus for outfit building was creating looks that were appropriate for video conferencing yet allow Harriet to shoot out the door for school run or dog walks.

As her wardrobe was such a mix of corporate, pre children, post children, gym and formal clothing we really took the time to identify what was still applicable for Harriet’s lifestyle today. Exploring how pieces from her previous life like tailored suit jackets, black trousers and formal shirts could be used now in her day to day wardrobe and still elevated for the formal occasions she attends with her husband.

Harriet has a fabulous figure with killer legs. Officially an ‘apple’ shape, after two children she was conscious of her ‘mum’ tum and so our aim was to highlight her lovely limbs, neckline and minimise the tummy.

The aim was to bring some more pizazz to her day to day wardrobe with easy transition from work Zoom to school pick-up. Using cool tones to enhance her eye colour and gorgeous hair colour. The key items we looked at to add to her wardrobe were a more casual blazer, and jacket some leather look leggings to show off her legs, casual bottoms and easy to wear skirts/dresses.

What Harriet says

Alice helped me with a style review and HUGE wardrobe edit -who knew I had so many navy dresses?!?

She was professional and fun from start to finish – starting with a colour and general consult, followed by coming to my house to go through my wardrobe to reassess everything!

What was particularly great was discovering, with Alice’s expert help, new outfits from old clothes – putting together different combos to create new looks and to take me out of my comfort zone to understand better how I can dress my figure to make the most of it.

We’ve just about got the summer wardrobe sorted and have already booked her for a wardrobe build (looking at winter clothes I already have and how to wear them) for the Autumn. Can highly recommend!
