Sustainable Style

Sustainability is an important part of the Wardrobe Love ethos.

Working within the fashion industry for over 16 years I have seen its ugly side. The Fast Fashion treadmill that encourages us to buy poor quality, ethically and environmentally damaging clothing because it is the answer to all our style problems.

One of the reasons why the fashion industry is considered by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), to be the second most polluting industry in the world.

Now I love clothes, I love style and I do love fashion, but I am a huge advocate of Sustainable Style. Mixing slow fashion with smart shopping and styling. I call my approach to this Sustainastyle™.

Sustainastyle™

Is about understanding your wardrobe style needs and desires and exploring them with confidence using preloved, clothes swapping and buying new but most importantly avoiding the impulse purchasing Fast Fashion tries to lull us into. A charity shop and pre-loved fiend myself, I love combining this passion with my experience and taste to style both men and women of all shapes and sizes within this ethos.

I am a co-founder of Swish it! A clothes swapping event currently based in Dorset. Encouraging people to bring items in their wardrobe they no longer need and swap for an item they will wear and love instead. All for a nominal fee with proceeds going to the Wardrobe Foundation.
